This is the third blog for my Fine Art Degree with the Open College of the Arts: Understanding Visual Culture. Less creating, more reading, thinking, writing. But still with some creating; I intend to link what I learn with some practical shenanigans. I admit to feeling rather nervous about this course; as a mandatory part of my degree pathway it wouldn’t, I admit, be on my list of go-to subjects, but in the Dark Ages (the 1980s) I did a BA (Hons) in Design History, which had many parallels to Visual Culture. I’m looking forward to researching this new subject, and applying all the lovely new knowledge to my practical work.
